Hall of Fame manager Pat Moran was a student of the game, especially when it came to the art of pitching, having caught in the majors for 14 seasons prior to nine years as skipper. This collection includes a Pat Moran day crowd shot, the caption of which reads: "MORAN DAY - SEPT. 29 1915 - SECTION 1 OF BRAVES FIELD - ALL FITCHBURG FRIENDS," who can be seen wearing their Moran Day ribbons. Moran's Phillies had just clinched the National League pennant and were playing near the Braves near his hometown on this day. The photo was taken by W.H. Woodhead, measures 14.5" x 12.5" in its frame and is in NRMT condition. There's also a beautiful portrait of Moran posed in street clothes, measuring 13.5" x 16". It is is damaged but remains visually appealing, therefore GD condition. The Loving Cup was presented to Moran by his friends on the first day of the 1915 World Series vs. the other Boston team - the Red Sox. It should be noted that Grover Cleveland Alexander won his first World Series game and the mighty Babe Ruth also made his world series debut as a pinch-hitter as the Red Sox prevailed in five games. The 11"-tall Trophy retains its original tarnished patina, which could be cleaned if desired. There are a few minor dents and dings, and it reads: "PRESENTED TO PAT MORAN - HIS FRIENDS" with 10 names listed in two columns, with the date - OCT 8, 1915 at the bottom.
