The New York Cosmos had won the North American Soccer League championship in its second year of existence in 1972. However, team popularity was never greater than in the mid-to-late-'70s, when the man who is arguably the greatest to have ever played - Pele - suited up for the team. Pele's lone championship with the Cosmos came in 1977, when these 10K emerald Josten rings were handed out. The 10.5 sized ring belonged to staff member Dom Flora. The face reads: "'77 NASL CHAMPIONS" on the top. One shank reads: "NASL" on a soccer ball, while the other features the Cosmos logo. It is engraved on the inside: "DOMINIC FLORA 8-28-77." Pele's name is also engraved. NRMT condition.
