Of all the relics from the legendary career of Hall of Fame outfielder Mickey Mantle, this recently-discovered jacket is one of the very best! It comes from legendary Yankee clubhouse man Pete Sheehy who gifted it to a friend. It was sold into a 35-year collection, where it has remained until now. A spectacular style, it is tagged with the Mantle-like “Mac Gregor size 44” and features the Lily-white NY on the chest and beautifully adorned black leather pockets. The thick, wool material shows even wear matching perfectly with the all-important “Mantle 7” on the inside patch. The black marker is simply right-on in terms of wear and color loss. There is a magnificent, rare felt Yankees felt patch on the sleeve. The piece breathes Mantle as one only has to look at this to simply see him. And how’s this for authenticity: “The Mick’s” old peanut shells are still in the pocket!
