This jacket associated with the David & Goliath era of Texas Western’s National Championship. They were the first all-black starting five to win the NCAA Basketball Championship. This is the same style worn, but this was worn by Jim "Bad News" Barnes, the year before (1964-65). That team provided the building blocks for their legendary championship versus bigoted coach Adolph Rupp as depicted in the 2006 film “Glory Road”. This came directly from the Barnes Family. It is a Sand-knit size 46 and a great style. The 1965-66 jackets are probably the same and were a carry-over from a year before. The style is photo-matched here.
