This fascinating piece measures 23" from base to top, with the base itself being 6" x 6". It is a motorcycle trophy first awarded in 1935 and features an amazing female central figure holding a Nutmeg (as Connecticut is the Nutmeg State) carved from a piece of the Charter Oak. A very stylish trophy for the time, which retains its original patina. The plate in front states "NUTMEG TROPHY RUN - HARTFORD MOTORCYCLE CLUB. While the ambitious plaque has room for about 20 years worth of victors, alas much of it is blank, with the last winner being engraved in 1940.
