Lot Description  

One of the most popular and widely collected 19th century card sets is the 1887 Allen & Ginter's World Champion set of 50. One of the most popular and widely collected 19th century card sets is the 1887 Allen & Ginter's World Champion set of 50. Packed in cigarettes these miniature portraits displayed the key sports figures of the time. Included with them is the 10-card baseball subset with the best players of the day. This example features Tim Keefe who was one of the most dominating pitchers of his time. This particular example has a very strong appearance with only light corner wear and a nice clean problem free back. Graded SGC 70 EX+ 5.5.
