In 1925, the Pottsville Maroons believed they had won the NFL Championship. That title was subsequently voided as the team was ruled to have infringed on another's territorial rights, in spite of Maroons management's contentions that they had permission to play the contests in question. This lot is a sworn affidavit which is signed by Pottsville Maroons head coach (1925-28), Richard Rauch outlining the exact details and circumstances for Pottsville's case to have their rightful title reinstated, though the claim eventually was denied. The document is EX and includes original signatures and notary seal, but the cover sheet has a few creases.
