This is a black leather punching bag used by former heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali during sessions at his training camp at Deer Lake, Pennsylvania. This item, known as an "up and down" bag, comes from the collection of Ali's longtime assistant trainer Wali Muhammad (1971-1981). This 16-inch-long bag includes part of the original laces and shows considerable use. Comes with LOA from the daughter of Wali Muhammad and an additional LOA from Craig Hamilton of JO Sports, Inc. The only example of this particular type of equipment we have seen offered at public sale.
