The 1998 Yankees were one of the most dominant teams in baseball history. They finished the regular season with a franchise-record 114 wins, then went 11-2 in the playoffs to set a new MLB record for most overall wins in a season with 125. With a well-balanced lineup featuring the likes of Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams and Paul O'Neill, and a solid rotation fronted by David Cone and David Wells, the Yankees beat opponents with machine-like efficiency. This EX/MT trophy is one that was awarded to players, coaches and front office staff. Produced by Balfour and standing at a height of 12" with a diameter of 23," this trophy features 30 gold-colored MLB team pennants on the perimeter. The interior design consists of a silver baseball, set within a gold band with a crown on top. Displayed directly in front of this are the 1998 World Series press pins for the Yankees and the Padres.
