Jack Johnson fought Fireman Jim Flynn on July 4, 1912 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Johnson knocked out Flynn in the 9th round to successfully defend his World Heavyweight Title. Presented here is a very rare souvenir medal from this fight. At the top are two holes for a neck chain that is missing. The images remain bold 100 years later despite some darkening from age. No scratches. 1 3/4" in diameter. Quite rare, it is one of the few we have seen.
