Lou Gehrig was a competitor. On and off the field, the "Iron Horse" embodied the human spirit of perseverance. When his body failed him, his will grew stronger and throughout his life he remained a humble man. This is why on July 4, 1941 the crowd packed the stands at Yankees Stadium to pay tribute to the legend who had died a month earlier at the age of 37. Here is a ticket stub from that day which features a bold black and white photo of Gehrig. The ticket stub is in VG/EX condition and is marked "Field Box 103A".
