A plethora of historical events and people dating from 1948-1958 are captured in this collection of large-format 5" x 7” negatives from the New York Mirror archives. The subject matter varies greatly from political events, most pertaining to Eisenhower, to shots of public figures like Mrs. William Randolph Hearst, to scenic shots of the Hudson River. The quality of the negatives range from G to EX with some having pitting in the surface and minor cracks or scratches, others are more pristine. Some of the negatives include the original news clippings. This is a great collection that chronicles a variety of people and stories that made headlines during the 1950s.
