Coaching legend John Heisman's signature is extremely rare, and signed photos are pretty much unheard of. Although this one is signed on the back, it is still a rare find. It is a mounted photo of the 1906 Georgia Tech baseball team that sees coach Heisman in the center holding a dog. There are crop marks at the top and bottom of the photo, apparently done by Heisman as this photo was sent to a company to make photo buttons of the team. All writing on the back is in Heisman's hand and is 8/10 black fountain ink. It reads: "THE GA TECH BASE BALL TEAM 500 - 1 3/4 IN. PHOTO BUTTONS $15.00 ORDER AND REMITTANCE FROM (NAME) 316 SPRING ST, ATLANTA, GA. BEARING DATE APRIL 27, 1906. EXPRESS BUTTONS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO THAT ADDRESS. ALSO RETRIM PHOTO. RUSH." Heisman - for whom the annual college football award is named - was the Yellow Jackets' head football and baseball coach from 1904-17. In addition, he coached the basketball team for three seasons!
