The Philadelphia Eagles bested Vincent Lombardi's Green Bay Packers for the NFL championship in 1960, and this gorgeous ball features 34 bold signatures from members of that outstanding team. Among them are Hall of Famers Sonny Jurgensen, Tommy McDonald and Chuck Bednarik, who became renowned for knocking Frank Gifford of the New York Giants out of football for over 18 months in one of the most famous tackles in NFL history. Bednarik - one of the true iron men the game has ever seen - was the last man to play the entire championship game. He averaged 58 minutes a game, playing both sides of the ball. On the last play of the championship game, Bednarik tackled Jim Taylor on 7-yard line and lay on top of him as he fought to get up as clock tick off final seconds. Philadelphia won 17-13 to cap an 11-2 season. This football is NRMT to MINT and comes with an LOA. The Eagles had won two titles prior to that 1960 campaign, the last occurrence being 11 years earlier. It would be 1978 before the franchise would ever play another postseason game.
