Coming off the 1927 season, the already legendary Babe Ruth was enjoying his second World Championship with the New York Yankees. The offered card of the one-time Home Run King features Babe Ruth in his classic follow-through home run stance. A small number "98" appears at the lower left of the black-and-white photo card. The reverse reads "Sociedade Industrial dos Tobacos de Angola". With what little information there is, we know that the front shares the image of the very rare Tabacalera La Morena issue and that they are a both South American (El Salvador) issues with Spanish text. We also know that very few examples have ever turned up in the hobby. The offered copy is graded PSA 6.5 EXMT+ and is the finest copy that we know of. It has superb corners and great clarity. Certainly a player set registry gem from one of the scarcest sets of the 1920s!
