Contained in this lot is a fascinating letter in its original envelope written to Virginia Wright from "Graham," both of whom were either connected to the team or very serious cranks. It is dated June 6, 1869 from Baltimore and reads, "My Virginia, I am sorry to say that I have been informed that the Base Ball Match will be postponed on account of the indecency of the weather. If it should even happen to clear the grounds would be too damp for the players. Please inform Mrs. Mollin, by so doing you will. Oblige a friend, Graham." This comes with ambrotype in leather union case, we believe it to be Virginia Wright & child. Interestingly, she is wearing black mourning armbands.
