"Nice guys finish last." While history may dispute whether this quote was correctly attributed to Leo Durocher, it is hard to dispute that the legendary "Lip" was one of the more colorful characters in baseball history. This lot contains one of the most desirable uniform styles extant. This was worn by Durocher while coaching the 1945 Brooklyn amateur team that competed in the "Brooklyn Against the World" tournament. It is all original and comes with jersey, pants, cap, leggings and belt. The jersey has "Brooklyn" in felt across the front and number "1" on the back and has Rawlings size 42 and Skinner tagging in the collar and "Durocher" sewn in the tail. The pants have "Durocher" sewn in the waist band along with Rawlings size 38 and Skinner tagging. While there is some staining and discoloration from use, there are no rips or holes and it is in remarkable condition for a satin uniform.
