Kirk Gibson sent the first shot across the bow in the 1988 World Series as the Dodgers shocked the Oakland A's after upsetting the Mets in the NLCS. The gimpy Gibson slugged a dramatic home run off untouchable closer Dennis Eckersley to win Game 1 and set the tone for the Series. This road gray shirt that shows moderate use came directly from the Dodgers and has the 100th anniversary patch removed from the left sleeve. This was probably done while preparing for spring training of the following year. The odd thing is that it has no tagging. All lettering, numbering and sizing (46 with tapered body) is correct. Rawlings is sewn on right sleeve cuff. The blue Dodgers nickname is sewn on the front, along with the red #22. The back reads: GIBSON 22. The helmet cannot be confirmed as Gibson's as the number on the back is missing. Looks like there was a 20 on the back at one time. It also comes with a NRMT single-signed ball.
