Louisville Slugger manufactured this piece of lumber in tribute to the Detroit Tigers in recognition of their American League pennant in 1940. The bat has the names of the members of that squad engraved, some of them with autograph reproductions and others with the name in all caps. While the names are all stamped in gold writing, there is fading toward the barrel and while the outlines of those names are still visible, the gold writing has worn off, though the bat itself is in Excellent condition. Members included on this item are the likes of Hank Greenberg and Earl Averill. While the Detroit crew came up short in that year's World Series, this is still a nice keepsake in recognition of a team that won 90 games and the AL pennant.
