Soccer's greatest player - Pele - literally gave this shirt off his back to a player on the Colombian National Team after a memorable Santos match on July 17, 1968 in Bogota. Pele had been removed from the game for arguing with a referee, but the crowd that had wanted to see the visiting superstar became enraged and showered the pitch with garbage, chanting for Pele's return. In an unprecedented move, Pele was reinstated to "keep the peace" and the referee was escorted from the stadium, much to the delight of the throng. The white collared shirt - which was given to a member of the Colombian team by Pele himself, features a stitched badge on the left breast with the letters SFC (Santos Football Club) inside. A faded white #10 is stitched in black thread on the back, and the inner color tagging included "MALHAS ATHLETA" and other wording. Shows light use and is in EX condition. In his career, Pele scored 760 official goals, including 541 in league championships, making him the top scorer of all time.
