From 1971 to 1984, the New York Cosmos were the most successful soccer team in America, both competitively and financially. The signature franchise of the now-defunct North American Soccer League won five championships, including 1977, when the team captured its second crown and handed out these rings to its personnel. The 10-karat yellow gold Jostens ring - size 10 1/2 - features a genuine emerald in the center. Around the outer edge reads: NASL CHAMPIONS and 1977. The ring was awarded to a Steven J. Ross on August 28, 1977, all of which is engraved on the inside of the ring. A Pele signature is superimposed on the side shank, commemorating his final American season, along with the letters NASL. The Cosmos logo is on the other shank.
