The first night game in major league history was in 1935 at Cincinnati's Crosley Field. By the 1940s, many teams were playing under the lights, and determined that wearing satin uniforms would be more reflective under the lights, enhancing the fans' viewing pleasure. The Brooklyn Dodgers may have taken most advantage of this practice, as this all-original jersey attests. The player who wore this particular outfit - pitcher Art Herring - also wore the pants, which belonged to his coach, "Red" Corriden. The all-original jersey shows nice use and features a Size 40 tag in the collar, as well as the name "Herring." The pants have a Wilson Size 36 tag and the name "Corriden" sewn in.
