These eight bank receipts from Hall of Fame outfielder Willie Mays shed a little light on the "Say Hey Kid" and his finances during his 1954 season with the New York Giants, his fourth in the majors and the only one that ended with a World Series championship. All but one of the deposit slips are to the joint account of Mays and Art Flynn (the other being to Mays alone). One source notated is Ed Sullivan, another the William Morris Agency and yet another Columbia Records. There is also a receipt that lists 17 deposits for the year that total over $23,000. Fascinating stuff!
