This hand-colored work of art, crafted by Gean Smith, is titled "Lou Dillon at Speed," and depicts a key moment in trotter history. In 1903, the horse became just the second to break the two minute barrier for a one mile race, finishing in just over 1:58. The piece measures 30 1/2x 24 1/2" including matting and frame, and includes the words "PUBLISHED BY TABER PRANG ART COMPANY, SPRINGFIELD, MASS," in the lower right corner. There is a small tear a minor water damage at one end of the paper backing, but the item is otherwise in excellent condition.
