There is uncertainty surrounding Honus Wagner's actual use of this bat so we are selling it as is. Whatever the case, it is a very nice, early Hillerich & Bradsby K40 model with "J. Hans Wagner" facsimile signature burned into the barrel. The cork-gripped bat is 34 inches long and weighs 37 ounces. The wood is very nice and has been used but not abused. There are ball marks on the barrel and slight grain separation, as well as a small crack on the knob. Wagner was a Hall of Fame shortstop, primarily for the Pittsburgh Pirates, at the turn of the last century. He won eight batting titles and is considered by many to have been the greatest hitter of the Dead Ball Era.
