The actual desk used by the great Bill Gaines, founder and publisher of MAD Magazine. Gaines used the desk in the 1970's and beyond, during the hay day of this publishing icon. This standing wood desk in convenient sections is all-original with drawers intact, original scribbling by Bill Gaines on its surface, coffee and food stains, and random phone numbers all intact. This desk was sold in the 1995 Sotheby's MAD about MAD auction for over $7,000. The material was consigned directly by MAD Magazine. It comes with the original photo catalogue establishing its provenance.
