Offered here are a pair of sparring gloves used by Jack Dempsey during training for his bout with Georges Carpentier. These are oversized sparring gloves, include original laces. Some flaking of leather, but otherwise intact. Gloves have been tagged with an old label which reads, "Boxing Gloves Used by Jack Dempsey at Mad. Bey's New Jersey When Preparing For His Fight With Georges Carpentier At Boyle's Thirty Acres, July 2nd, 1921. Dempsey KO'd Carpentier In The 4th Round. Gloves Were Presented To Me By Mrs. Jack (Lagana) Kearns in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1925 In Appreciation For Giving Her Tennis Lessons." Kearns was Dempsey's manager at the time of this fight. Gloves come with a LOA from daughter of original owner and Craig Hamilton.
