Eight-time Grand Slam tennis champion Jimmy Connors made a magical run to the 1991 US Open semifinals at the age of 39, and here is some of the gear that he sported along the way: His personalized yellow racket (signed in black ink on the taped handle); size 9 Nike Air shoes (signed in blue Sharpie); match-used shirt with Connors' name on the front emblem and on one of the sleeves (Pepsi logo on the right sleeve), as well as his name repeatedly showing in the collar; blue XL CoCo Bana blue cotton pullover (signed in blue Sharpie and glue residue); green tennis ball (signed in black ink) and two wristbands (signed in black ink). Signatures average 7-8/10 and there's fine use all around. There is some glue residue on the pullover and shirt, and a display label is included with Connors' name misspelled. Perhaps the most popular player in US Open history, Connors made history with his brilliant run 20 years ago, highlighted by a super-intense quarterfinal match vs. fellow American Aaron Krickstein on Connors' 39th birthday. Playing with a surgically repaired wrist and coming off a third-round match that saw him win the last three sets to advance, Connors again pulled off a stunning comeback from 5-2 down in the final set in a match that lasted 4 hours and 41 minutes.
