Famous boxing referee Arthur Mercante passed away last year but his fine legacy endures. This is the trophy that was presented to the World War II veteran upon his induction into the World Boxing Hall of Fame on November 7, 1987. The trophy stands roughly 25" tall and is in EX condition. Mercante's career spanned five decades before his retirement in 2001. He officiated many notable bouts, including the first Muhammad Ali-Joe Frazier fight in 1971.
