This is a terrific studio photo of Morenz from the early 1930s, rare because of the young age at which he died. Considered one of the first stars of the NHL, Morenz was one of the original 12 inductees to the Hockey Hall of Fame. In 1950, the Canadian Press named him the best ice hockey player of the first half of the 20th century.
The portrait is mounted on matte board and has a few small (pin-head sized) flaws to the photo, otherwise strong EX condition. It is signed at the bottom in 7.5/10 black fountain ink - part of the signature is written over a darker portion of the photo.
