A consummate athlete and gentleman, Jackie Jensen broke into the league in 1949 and would go on to have a storied career for the Boston Red Sox, winning the 1958 AL MVP, a Gold Glove in 1959, and earning three trips to the All-Star game. This presentation platter measuring 12" across was awarded to Jensen by the Boston Sports Lodge B'nai B'rith. The EX condition silver platter created by Poole is etched with the following inscription: "Boston Sports Lodge B'nai B'rith / Fifth Annual Awards Dinner / Sheraton Plaza Hotel / May 28, 1957 / to Jackie Jensen for High Principle and Achievement in Sports". Also included is a NRMT Topps Jackie Jensen baseball card from 1954.
