In the early 20th century the names Dempsey and Tunney were linked like Ali and Frazier were 50 years later. This lot offers some rare memorabilia signed by Jack Dempsey and Gene Tunney. First is a rare early 20th century boxing glove which has been boldly signed in ink on the wrist by Gene Tunney. Second is a large Everlast white leather glove signed across the backhand by Jack Dempsey. Signature a bit light. Last are 9" x 13 1/2" artworks by Griffith, Dempsey done in 1927 and Tunney done in 1926 which have been signed individually by the fighters. Dempsey dated his to 1929. The signatures are bold. Framed together to 19" x 25." Wonderful combination of signed items.
