This very attractive envelope is addressed to “Harry Wright Esq / Manager Boston Base Ball Club / Boston, Mass.” It was sent from B. Fleischman of the Active Base Ball Club of Reading, PA. The back of the envelope sports Wright’s very own handwriting with baseball content. After Wright received this in the mail, he used the verso to take notes of the Boston club’s expenses in game versus Providence. There are several lines in pencil of expenses, including the team’s hotel, "RRD" (railroad: train to the game) and more. There is even a notation of “GW” for 75 cents that may relate to his brother George Wright. This was recently discovered at a philatelic show. EX.
