This 8.5x12.75" Sporting News Baseball Questionnaire was filled out entirely by Hall of Famer, Johnny Evers. Baseball historians would find Evers' answers interesting, such as listing his nickname as "Crab", stating it was acquired through "clashes with umpires" and to "ask umpire Klem". Also noted is the correct pronunciation of his last name-"E-vers (Home), Ev-ers (Away)". The best part of this document is listed under the question of "most outstanding baseball performance" which Evers responds "Merkle Play 1908". Signed at the bottom "John J. Evers" in 8/10 black fountain ink. The document itself is dated "Feb. 17-43", with typical mailing folds and a staple at the top left hand corner.
