Little blurbs have been written next to different buildings or areas. For example, the image at the top left says, "View From Cemetery Ridge, 'The High Water Mark of the Rebellion'". Another, next to it, reads, "A General View of First Days Battle, Spot Where Reynolds Was Killed". There is a small key at the bottom that shows the viewer where places like Pennsylvania College, Seminary Ridge, and the Reformed Church can be found on the map.
