On May 7, 1987 the “Golden Boy” Donny Lalonde and Mustafa Hamsho fought at Madison Square Garden in New York for the vacant WBC Continental Americas Light Heavyweight Championship. Lalonde won a 12 round decision to win the title. Here are the fight worn gloves used by Donny Lalonde in that bout and the championship belt he was awarded for winning it. The gloves are red leather and have the manufacturer’s label for Everlast. Each glove is marked on the backhand “CONTINENTAL AMERICAS LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE DONNY LALONDE W-12 MUSTAFA HAMSHO MAY 7. 1987 N.Y.C.” (MSG). Gloves and belt are in excellent condition.
