Left-handed pitcher Johnny Podres will forever be immortalized as the man who lifted the Brooklyn Dodgers to their only World Series championship, blanking the Yankees in the decisive seventh game of the 1955 Fall Classic. Podres was Dodgers royalty, having played 14 of his 17 Major League seasons with the franchise, both in Brooklyn and Los Angeles.
