This historic Official National League Spalding baseball was used to win game three of the 1914 World Series. It was hit by Harry Gowdy in the 12th inning to win the game. The baseball is lettered in faded black (now brown) fountain ink, and shows fine use. One part of the ball says, "Braves World's Champion Gowdy". Another section has wording, and says, "Braves 5, Athletics, Tyler...". Another part of the baseball reads, "Braves 1914, This ball was hit by Gowdy, doubled to left in 12, scored on a sacrifice & winning game 5-4."
