English light heavyweight world boxing champion ('48-'50) Freddie Mills wore these gloves when he fought against heavyweight Bruce Woodcock. Woodcock knocked down Mills in the 4th round, and won the 12-round fight on points. The gloves have labels at the wrists, reading, "The Donmall Glove, Officially Approved by the BBB of C, Made in England by Spalding". Above these labels is a piece of white tape covered in clear tape. Freddie Mills autographed each of these gloves in blue ink. The date is visible in the right corner of each glove, and says, "2-6-49" (The British date for the 2nd of June, 1949). "No.2" is printed inside each glove.
