This item is so exceptional that it is the only example known. It is the unused receipt for the purchase of a $50 ticket to the fight. It was to be redeemed at the Metropolis Trust and Savings Bank in San Francisco, CA, but never was. Since $50.00 was a lot of money in 1910, just about anyone who paid $50.00 back then would have redeemed this ticket. This fight was called the "Fight of the Century" in Reno, Nevada, with Johnson smashing through Jeffries towards the end of the fight, securing his victory. The outcome of this black vs. white fight unfortunately led to rioting across the country. There are several folds, pinholes, and tape on the back. The front is in Good condition.
