This piece, gouache on artist's paper, was created by the brilliant baseball artist and Lelands' dear departed friend, Richard Merkin. This is a fiery example of his work featuring a currently unknown girl pitcher in the Caribbean. The signs behind her, in front of palm trees, read "Biere...Bon Jour". The girl is smoking a cigarette; there is a "PP" on her cap, with skull and crossbones on her jersey. She is the stereotype of "Senor" Merkin's style. It has been signed by the artist, and measures 30.75x41". EX-MT.
