This albumen photograph showcases one of the great New York teams of the 1870's. It comes with a period article that identifies the team as Canandaigua from 1878. The photograph has been mounted on cardboard with some minor edge trimming. The mount is 100% original. There is some staining at the top. The nine images are magnificent. The players are: John Cunningham, Frank Torry, Hugh Smith, William Anderson, S. Curtis, Sumner Couch, John Mulligan, Charles Wilcox, and M.W. Touhey. There is a stamp on the back from being entered into an archive, "JUN 7 - 1907". The photo itself, though, is vintage from 1878.
