There are two cards included in this lot. The first is a 3 x 5" index card, which reads, in blue ballpoint pen, "Regards Lloyd J. Waner, 'Little Poison' Pirates". Waner was the brother of fellow Major Leaguer Paul Waner. Lloyd's small frame and weight of only 150 lbs. made him known as one of the smallest players of the time. Lloy's brother Paul became known as "Big Poison" ('person'). The second card measures 3 1/2 x 5 1/2", and features a photo of a plaque from the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown of Harold J. "Pie" (because he loved eating pie!) Traynor, who played his entire career with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Pie is considered by most people to have been the best National League third baseman before the '50's. The back of the postcard was written in blue ballpoint pen, "To Ralph, VA Center, Wadsworth, Pie Traynor".
