Hall of Fame corner infielder and seven-time All Star, slugger Tony Perez was an integral part of the Big Red Machine that dominated the National League during the 1970's, going to the World Series four times in seven years beginning in 1970 and winning back-to-back World Series championships in 1975 and 1976. This is a Cincinnati Reds home jersey worn by Tony Perez during the 1971 season. The jersey is flannel with set-in sleeves, buttons up the front, and features Perez' name lettered on the back and his number "24" on both front and back in single tackle twill; all numbering and lettering is original, as is the "Reds" insignia on the front. There is tagging inside the lower right button placket; a Rawlings size 44 label is sewn above a fabric care label and a flag tag reading "Set 1 #8P 1971." The jersey is also signed by Perez in blue marker on the front left tail. It shows overall moderate to heavy use, with fading to the twill letters and numbers. Upon close inspection, there is some light rust-like spotting on the jersey. Overall, though, it grades Mears 9.5 and will make a fine acquisition for the discerning collector. Comes with LOA.
