This panoramic photograph in commemorative long format depicts the J.C. Rhodes amateur baseball team lined up prior to their October 8, 1920 exhibition game against the National League Boston Braves, whose lineup that day included Ray Powell, John Sullivan, Walton Cruise, Walter Holke, Art Wilson, Rabbit Maranville, Hod Ford, Hank Gowdy, and pitchers Hugh McQuillan, Jack Scott and Eddie Earys. The game was played at Sargent's Field in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and since Braves player Rabbit Maranville hailed from New Bedford, the day of the game was proclaimed "Maranville Day." The Braves won the game 3-0, holding the Rhodes team to one hit. The photograph measures 48 x 8" and is in very good condition.
