Billy Evans, known as "The Boy Umpire," became the youngest umpire in the history of the major leagues at age 22, and the youngest to umpire in the World Series at age 25. He was a major league umpire from 1906 to 1927, and later served as the general manager of the Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers. Evans was inducted into the Hall of Fame as an umpire in 1973. His signature appears on the panel of this Official National League ball. Although somewhat faded, the signature still grades a 5/6. Another signature has been removed from the ball. Overall, the ball grades a 6 and appears to have been game used. Comes with LOA.
