Newsboy cabinet cards were issued by the National Tobacco Works of New York City to promote their Newsboy Tobacco brand. Newsboys are extremely rare and one of the very few baseball card sets issued during the 1890s. This 1895 card from the N566 series features #176 Michael Tiernan of the New York Giants. The large (3 1/2 x 5 1/2") sepia-toned photo of Tiernan is clear and crisp, the red borders are intact and the corners show some rounding. The card is enclosed in a protective plastic case. SCG graded 60/5 EX, this will be a gorgeous addition to your vintage card collection.
