Important baseball jersey is a superb piece. Quality of the workmanship is exceptional. This came directly from Western Costume who supplied many of the costumes to the movie studios. This could have been made for and used by the Ethiopian Clowns Negro League team, made for a film needing a Negro League team or made for the Clowns and then passed down to Western Costume. This was a common practice, such as the uniforms used in the film The Jackie Robinson Story were real Brooklyn Dodger shirts they got directly from the team. Brilliant scripted “Ethiopian Clowns” lettering across the front along with amazing face of stereotypical African American baseballer on front in felt. "Empire" tagging in the collar, plus Western Costume cloth tag and red stamp in back of tail. #7 on verso in blue felt. Beautiful 100% original condition (EX-MT). One of the few Negro League jerseys you will ever see.
