Impressive grey flannel was acquired from the Fox family (with their LOA). Though originally used by a member of Connie Mack's big league squad in 1946, it found its way into Hall of Fame history in the year or two to follow, when Fox wore it as a "hand-me-down" while representing the Athletics' farm team in either Lincoln, Nebraska or Fredricksburg, Maryland. Classic "A" covers the heart of this well-worn treasure, with number "31" on verso. Collar tagging is from both "MacGregor Goldsmith size 44" and "Mitchell & Ness." Year tag reading "'46" is stitched in black thread in tail. Some dark staining in collar, with much lighter and unobtrusive spots across the chest. It looks great, guaranteed. The earliest Fox jersey you'll ever find.
