One of the most impressive generic football pieces we have had the pleasure to offer. Standing figure of a period footballer is incredibly detailed. His body is made of a fine jepson. He is 100% handmade and handpainted but is without any doubt a commercial piece due to the extremely fine quality nature. He is wearing an accurate wool striped uniform and pants that are thatched with painstakingly elaborate threading to create the full detailed effect. His eyes and eyeballs are brilliantly painted giving him character and acting as an earmark of quality. You can see the laces on his football spikes and the melon ball he carries under his arm. He even has an early cap, made of lamb's wool. Standing on a fine wood base, he has the regal look of an Ivy Leaguer. Circa 1890. This is the best of the best. Stands 9.5" tall, EX-MT. It is in its original bell jar making this an unbeatable display piece.
